Karani Ventures, founded by Mr. Maganlal Karani, traces its origins back to the early 1960s in the UAE. Beginning with Prakash Trading Company (PTC), Mr. Karani ventured into the supply and distribution of electrical and lighting solutions, setting up shop in Al Sabkha, Deira—an emerging trading hub in Dubai at the time. His vision laid the foundation for Karani Ventures’ journey, setting high standards in supply and distribution within Dubai’s emerging trading landscape.

Under the leadership of Mr. Karani, the founder, Karani Ventures began its significant expansion. The second generation, led by Deepak Karani, joined the company in 1987 with a focus on expanding the family business. Deepak’s strategy was centered around growing the export business, which saw rapid growth in the late 1980s, particularly catering to markets in the Middle East, Africa, and CIS countries. Guided by Mr. Karani, Deepak was instrumental in establishing new branches in Abu Dhabi and Qatar, further solidifying Karani Ventures’ presence and influence in these regions.

Mr. Dilip Karani joined the family business in 1991 after graduating from the United States. He played a pivotal role in setting up the mechanical products division, M/s Apex Trading Co., starting from a small setup in Sharjah and expanding its presence to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Today, Apex Trading Co. offers a diverse range of products in HVAC, Fire Fighting, Oil and Gas, and water system industries. Dilip also spearheaded the establishment of M/s Dar Al Fonoon, a leader in power tools, hand tools, accessories, and safety products.

Mr. Ajay Karani, the youngest family member, contributed significantly by establishing the switchgear manufacturing division of the business. He later transitioned to Prakash Trading as Director of Strategy, focusing on developing new business verticals such as solar energy products, EV mobility, and lighting solutions. Additionally, Ajay heads the automation division of the group, M/s Futureway Technical Services LLC, driving smart automation and energy efficiency solutions within the group.

Karani Ventures have over 60 years of experience in the Middle East, Africa, and CIS countries. We initially started with electrical and lighting solutions and have grown and expanded our business to meet the changing needs of today’s world.
